While many music schools/universities were hesitant with this sudden opportunity, Tamagawa University welcomed him, since Tamagawa values music and arts in its core of education. This encounter has grown into an educational exchange between Tamagawa University with Tamagawa Academy, affiliated K-12 schools, and the BPO members. Based on these friendships and educational exchanges, in 2011 Mr. Heutling proposed an education program that BPO members could be engaged in.   The Tamagawa-Berlin Philharmonic Members Education Program was established in 2011 and the goal of the program is to pursue possibilities and values of education through music and the arts. As Tamagawa has its educational philosophy based on learning from real and meaningful experiences, three BPO members volunteered and formed a trio for its first education program in 2011 for K-12 students and University students. The education program added another creative element in 2013 where 3rd graders engage in expressing music through arts and movement. Based on these exchanges and educational programs, the education program in 2017 continued to improve by including a dialogue session and a creative program session for children with the theme “Exploring within the Arts,” which included a performance session with the Performing Arts department.   This paper describes the BPO, the BPO’s conductors, and the music selected for the program in order to define the program’s background and significance. Fur thermore, this paper examines and reveals the accomplishment and achievement of the 2017 education program through a post-event questionnaire of the 197 audience members. In conclusion, the 2017 education program shows (1) the significance of learning from real and meaningful experience, (2) the significance of program from “learning from” to “Creating together,” (3) an indication of the possibilities in arts education, and (4) an increased motivation for learning and school pride through collaboration beyond borders.}, pages = {25--40}, title = {玉川―ベルリン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団員 教育プログラム2017―「本物から学ぶ教育」の成果と課題―}, year = {2019} }
