Their most important work by Protestant missionaries, is a Chinese missionary document such as Chinese Bible and doctrine manual. However, they had also written introduction manual of modern Western culture at the same time.   They were considered to see the reality of pre-modern Chinese society for each side of the political, economic and cultural, it is necessary to introduce the Western modern culture in China. They were more and more Chinese to order to lead to the Christian faith, published in succession the enlightening manual of modern Western culture in China. Several types of science book are included in it. One book is “HAKUBUTSUSHINPEN( 博物新編)”.
