This paper proposes that establishing specific reading of selected English picture books would have immeasurable positive effects on storytelling in English classes in elementary schools, and it would consequently lead to an improvement in the English ability of young children. Basis of selection should be established to help teachers select the English picture books well enough to use picture books in their classes.
